Eitan is a career diplomat and the second most senior representative of the State of Israel to the Southwesterrn United States.

He assumed his position at the Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles in July 2017. Previously, he served as the Spokesperson in Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He was in charge of relations with Israel based media. In this role, he was instrumental in facilitating the close coordination between the domestic press, senior government officials and international agencies. His work was especially crucial as the principal channel for communicating policy and sensitive information to the Israeli public.

Before that, Eitan was posted at Israel’s Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, as spokesperson and Head of the Public Diplomacy Department. Mr. Weiss also served at Israel’s Embassy in Moscow in charge of economic affairs and international cooperation.

He holds a Master’s Degree from Tel Aviv University in conflict resolution and public administration and a Bachelor’s Degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in Political Science and International Relations, with Honors.

Eitan served in Army Intelligence in the Israel Defense Forces as Sergeant Major. He is married and has three children.
